SLEDDOG AND EXCURSION BY SNOWSHOEING

From driving a sled dragged by dogs to a walk by snow shoes

SLEDDOG AND EXCURSION BY SNOWSHOEING

The Eskimo population of Inuit were the first to train dogs to drag sleds and to use them for the transport.

This practice was used in Europe from the XI° until the XVIII° century.

In literature the sled dogs and the life of their  “mushers” were magnificently told by Jack London and described in his beautiful stories.

Today  the much used races of dogs are the Siberian Husky, the Alaskan Malamute, the Salmoied, the Greenlands, the Eskimo e the Anika Inu.

In the beginning they were simple “village dogs” which lived with Athabaska Indians and Inuits. Thanks to their excellent results in competitions that took place in Alaska, they were selected and in the course of time came up the Alaskan Husky.

The experience starts at the Base Camp equipped for you. Beautiful dogs and professional instructors at your disposal to teach how to become a "musher", driver of sleds for one day.

You taste the emotion of scooting on the soft snow, in striking scenes, on the sleds dragged by Huskies with grey/blue eyes.

This fascinating experience teaches many things on animals, combines the passion for nature,

sport and adventure.

While a part of the group goes by sled, the other one make an excursion by the Snow Shoes.

The Snow shoes experience is unique and brings you back in former times when the population of the mountains used this equipment to move from one place to another.

The Lunch is at the Adventure Camp, to taste the best food of the local tradition, prepared exclusively for the group.
